Man where is everyone. This site is silent like a .......!
Half the stuff posted is gone that is for sale or was on an auction site. sad.gif

This is not a classifieds site. Some of us check the site every day, so others post items we find that we think will be of interest to others.

If you haven't figured it out already, aviation in general involves alot of patience!

Speaking of things of interest, I found www.pilotfriend.com last week. Fantastic information. The aviation history section is awesome.
I also use www.airnav.com for fuel pricing. www.fltplan.com is great for flight planning. I often use it to plan trips for the people I fly. Just got back from a flight today using the info from the site. The trip originated in at ANY to CUH to F99 to BYP vor to CQY vor to AUS. The return trip was the Centrex II departure Waco transition CQY BYP F99 (drop passenger off) CUH (drop off passenger and refuel) direct SLN. Will be flying to PTS in the morning. I am able to have several aircraft and their profiles easily accessed. Make for fast planning with most the information I need. This is a site used by many corporate flight crews.

The Cessna 175 Skylark website depends on it members for information. Unlike some websites, the members post meaningful information. There is not a lot of BS on this site. Our members are all adults here.
My hat is off to Kris and others who have worked very hard to provide this website to Skylark fans. Keep up the good work Kris.

Well it looks like all you get from a responce is criticism. Other web sites allow you to join in on forms. That is where the information comes from. You do not have to pay to do that or be a member. Also you do not have to use a tail number so everyone can go to the FAA site and look you up.Most people that buy a C175 are clueless about it.There are a lot of guys out there that have them or have had them and have a lot of information about them that would be helpful to anyone wanting one or who has one.
Patience no kiddin. When you have five aircraft you have more than most.
How can anyone learn with out a little childs play or bullshit in life? You get to serious in life and you end up with nothing. With an attitude given back from a harmless comment. I wish you luck on your site. You may want to consider making some changes to allow your site to grow. Yes it may have humor and fun in it,but it will open up the door for a sleeping bird.

Keep the good work guys. This is ours website for owners of 175, and it is great help, thanks Kris rolleyes.gif

To the Unregistered poster. I did not mean to get your nose out of joint with my comments. Our members take this website and its information seriously. Everyone here has the same goal. Preserve, Restore, Maintain and enjoy the Cessna 175 Skylark. We all learn from the information shared by others.
Kris is a very open individule and open to suggestions. Running a group like this requires hard work and dedication.
You are more than welcome to join our merry band of Skylark aviators.
Kind Regards,

I have a highly modified 1958 C175, and just discovered this site. It is great and much of the past info pertains to what I have been thinking of. The check is in the mail.

I have found that this site is not hard to find, if your seriously looking for anything to do with a Cessna 175. Just go to Google and type Cessna 175, it shows up about 7 or 8 times. I think the site is working perfectly for my needs.

I have also found in my 12,000 plus flying hours, most professional aviators are extremely serious and exhibit very little "child's play" in and around their airplanes, we save that for our close friends and maybe some "Pudknocker" that wanders in and critizes our website (In case you didn't catch the tongue-in-cheek, the last sentence is a humorous remark).

Thanks to Kris for all his work.

I bought 93E about 2 years ago & was pretty much on my own. This site has been a great help to me in maintaining/improving my A/C. The archived manuals are worth far more than the price of admission. I only have 1 airplane that flies. The rest are just plastic models. I would guess our anonymous poster has a fleet of 5 to test his "patience". ;o)

Well lets see. I have a few different types of aircraft.I bounce along at other fourms. To bad there is not a way to just jump in a fourm with out being a member. Most all othe sites have that option.I have had a C175 long before this site. You can find alot on FAA site and a local Trade a problem.I look at life different than most and have had my grandfather and uncle and Father in aviation. So when I say five aircraft it is more than that and they are not plastic. Starts at a 1952 170B to a 1968 Citabria. In between those dates are two 1958 C175,s yes two. When you have a fleet you learn a lot about where to get parts and to have lot of patience a whole lot.No I will not join this club or the Bellanca/Champion club or the 170 ASS> 0r the prop cock proud 180/185 jockey club.I get good laughs out of the fourms on all the sites.
The key to STOL is weight throw all the extra do dah gismos out or go buy a Mooney or Beech for your I follow roads flying with no deice. You don't need stol kits they just get you into trouble.......

We all learn from each other. Come on now, spill your knowledge. This goes for everyone. Mistake and sucess stories are always interesting.
I am comando right now. Which net style and size do you prefer? lol

Oh, please, please, give us some knowledge about how to fly and care for this bird. With so much experience, maybe you could just share a little with us neophytes. I guess you just pull back to go up, and push forward to go down, turn wheel to left to go left, turn wheel to right ot turn right. BTW, what are those things on the floorboard - they don't seem to brake the damn thing, but just make it wig/wag? .... flies just like a P51!

Well Looks like there are more posts about this thread than posted about some good information.See fun is good. What I am saying is it is too bad you have to be a member to post on all threads. Most web sites out there allow that. This is how you can get someone passing by to jump in and share.Yah the guy is doing a web site and trying to get it going, but to close it off to members only it will take a long time to ever really make it happen. Not enough 175's out there. That's all I have been trying to say.Now for some you are proud of a club fine no problem but look at your posts how far the days are between posts. Then go to cessna170.org and take a look at real site.Who really gives a ...... how many planes one has or what they have flown. With the GA going in a slow move in the downward area all help should be accepted. When you have been around them you just learn good and bad point on them who to buy parts from and so on.But here you have to be a member to post any where but this thread and could never without being a member. The ones that can't see it, well I have read your responces.

The reason for members and registered users only is relatively simple. The reason I chose to do it this way is because everyone in the club can follow up with each other on any topic. We know clearly who each person is who makes statements and can discuss things outside the forum if we wish.

I have seen other aircraft forums where someone will come along and make a big splash with all kinds of information about someones problem, and then just vanish, not to be heard from for months later. So, if something needed further explanation or a new person reading the topic wanted to talk to the person whith the info, no dice. No info. No contact.

This club is supposed to be useful to the members, not frustrating.

Another thing is that you incorrectly suppose that only members can post in other forums. There are 32 people registered to post on any forum here that are "Users", not members. As long as no-one abuses the privledge I will continue to allow unpaid user access to all the forums. I specifically created the Guest forum for people who wanted to know more about the 175 and didn't want/need to join the club.

I consider all this nonsense and complaining about things with seemingly no point except to make us do what we are already doing a waste of space on the forum and I am close to moderating the topic right out of here, so please drop the subject. Also, I am tired of moderating your crude language.

If you want to help people stick around. If not go enjoy other forums that suit you. Kris

I guess I am too dense to work this site ?

How were the engine mount attach bracket failures located which you know of ?

Was detectable bulge in the firewall at the attach location ?

Was the fault detectable by lifting on the engine and looking at the firewall for motion ?

I was unable to reply to the comment you made - I tried this and got through.

I was there saturday when the guy from El Reno came.

Good luck Bob

Sorry Bob,

The original post I made was in the space used for News only and is not replieable. I copied a new topic in the A&P forum and you can reply to it there.
