Okay Kris,

What's the difference between a 175 (I understand the Geared prop) and a P172D?

(By the way, you're a real night owl!!! )

cool.gif who-whoo..

The P172D is a 1963 model with omnivision rear windows. Cessna changed the name trying to get away from the stigma the skylark had already developed. It was not effective. It has the same GO-300-E as the 1962 model 175C. They came with the McCauley C21 constant speed prop, and had cowl flaps. See Steve Kriss's N8344T Gallery and Roy's - N8751X

Cheers!

Kris

refitting a plane is like remodeling a house- takes lots of thought and planning. Sometimes at night.... :-)

Are there any P172D owners on this forum? If so, how do you like your plane? Anything unusual about it (i.e.) are the airframe parts like a regular 172? I know the engine is like the 175 models. What is the length of the prop swung by the 175C engine?
thanks for any info,
Glenn

All GO-300's have 84" props stock, C/S or fixed. There are a at least one or two owners here and there have been two more who sold their planes.
