There was a very bad crash near my airport, Lindsay Municipal 1K2 yesterday. The identity of the aircraft and the idenetity of the persons on-bard have not been released but unfortunately the news said it was a 2006 SR22 which matches the year of the only cirrus based at the field. I know its owner and it is a sad day.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for flying, we left Lindsay Municipal about 11:30AM and flew to CHK to return a rented airplane. It is hard to imagine such a bad crash in a cirrus in good weather here, unless it was a stall/spin event or other catastrophic failure.

Its always a bummer when someone you know passes on before their time. Unfortunatley it happens in this industry. Last summer I lost a good friend of mine and another ex coworker in an accident (Scaled Composites accident). The saying we have at work is kind of harsh but fitting, "you'll have that".
