My question is: I would like to know how many "Powermatic" 172s were mfg in 1963. They had the 175hp engine.
Thanks
Glenn

Glenn,
I am going off of memory... but I think 65 P172D serial numbers were built, and 43 remain in the US registry. In addition, 3 FP172D's were built in France.

Bonjour,
I own the Powermatic number 1 made in France in 1963. (marks F-BLKC)
I am trying to restore it but I got problems with the variable prop.
Is there an STC to put the standart fix prop from a C175 on the powermatic P172 ?
I do have such a prop 0 hours.(mcCauley 1B175MFC8467)

Yves,
There is no such STC as of yet, however, I have been working with a gentleman here in the states on getting an STC for this change on the 175C and the P/FP172D. Please inform us what problems you are having with the variable prop.
