My mechanic wants to get a ballpark idea of how long it takes to do the AD. He says the 7.5 for inspection and 3.0 per bracket may not be correct. If anyone can remember actual time spent we'd like to know. Thanks, Forrest

To do the visual inspection on the brackets it shouldn't take more than an hour. The right upper is the hardest one to look at because the glove box hampers access.

To do the Cessna SEB to change bolts and do the new torque value should take about 3 hours or so depending on how you do it.

The inspection requires the installation of new mounting bolts and washers, etc. On my 175A it was not possible to remove the lower bolts without suspending the engine and pulling it out from the firewall a couple of inches. Total time was about 12 hours. Fortunately no cracks were found so I don't know how long replacement would take.

The AD seems to have the times for inspection and replacement reversed. There's no way that if an inspection takes 7 hours that replacement would take only 3. I think it would be more like 3 hours per bracket.

My plane just had SEB07-2-R2 done and it took 7.1 hours. The engine is off of the airplane for overhaul so that probably makes some difference.
