I was thumbing through the latest issue whatever showed up in the mailbox yesterday and saw an ad for the JPI EDM-930 engine monitor. While checking out the website, data they had for download, the STC, AML, etc., I discovered that the EDM-930 is not approved for the 175.

I sent an email to JPI asking why they didn't approve it in the 175 and what would it take to get it approved, since it is approved in the 170 & 172 with the O-300 and in the R172K & 172RG. A got a fairly quick reply and am providing them with the engine operating limitiations (GO-300 series) and they will see what can be done to get it added to the AML when they do their thing with the data.

If any of you non-GO-300 purists are interested in getting it for your STC'd powerplant conversion, send me the STC number that the powerplant was installed under and what the operating limits are for your particular engine.

Check it out, it would free up some panel space by combining all of the engine instruments, fuel and electrical gauges all in a 4.787 X 5.584 inch area.

Thanks for the info Rick,

I saw the same thing in an article tonight and was wondering if it was STC'd for the 175. I'll have to look up the information and get it over to you. It looks like an interesting unit. I could make all kinds of room using this rather than the host of other gauges I have.

I will dig up my ops as well and send them over.
