Clay Story
Hi,
I am supposed to fly some people to Colorado Springs for June 26 - 28. Will be flying a Seneca II.
They told me I am on my own until Sunday.
I have flown into COS several times but never had time to do much more than refuel, pickup parts and take off.
Looking for suggestions of things to do other than sit in a motel room.
Thanks,
Clay

The Cog train up Pike's Peak is fun, Garden of the Gods is also worth the time, A short trip into the mountains will take you to Monarch Pass which has a neat lift to the peaks. All touristy stuff but hey I'm from Kansas.

Me too Jim. I am from Udall, Kansas.

Thanks for the ideas. I have been looking on some travel websites and am thinking of also going to Royal Gorge and Cripple Creek. There are three casinos in Cripple Creek. The one I really want to see is called "Brass Ass Casino". I went on their website and watched their commercial. It is worth watching.

We road the train through the royal gorge, it was neat but also hot this time of year. (June) More fun if you have someone with you.

Jim Crance is in Colorado Springs, you might hook up with him. If you are into electronic stuff (me) they actually have a small components warehouser in CS called centennial electronics. Resistors, transistors, IC's and lots of other stuff galore. Hard to find this stuff these days except mail order.

Kris, you might try Lloyd's Electronics Inc. 220 W Harry St, Wichita Kansas 67213. (316) 262-7472
They have all sorts of transistors, diodes, resistors, transformers, chips, and other items a sparky like yourself would find useful.

Jim,
Thank you for showing me your airplane and airport.
I like your chrome plated starter and the finish on your magnetos.
During my trip to Colorado Springs, I rode the Cog Rail up Pikes Peak. Great trip and worth the fare. Drove to Cripple Creek and had a good time in the casinos. Also went down into the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine.
I ran into James Blair from Odessa, Tx. James was @ COS in a Saratoga. Had a most enjoyable discussion about C175's. He said he had a 1958 but now has a 1960 C175A with a GO-300.
While at COS, I ran into a dentist I know from Salina, Ks. He was there for a Flying Dentist convention.
Talk about a small world. I can't go anywhere without getting caught. LOL
