Erik,
Well I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! My "Patch the wings and fly it while I figure out what to do with the 175" project was rolled out of the hangar this morning for its maiden flight. Everything went well, now I have to secure insurance and learn how to fly it. Still need to wrap up the paper work and break the engine in. The local broker wants me to get eight hours dual in it with a high time CFI (in a 12) to solo, then 20 before I carry a passenger.
I am thinking about pulling the wings on my 175 next and start taking it apart for float kit and taildrag. I may wait until you publish your "how to" manuscript though.

Fantastic Doc! Its about time you darkened the skies of AK again with your mighty fleet. My how to manual will be out in bookstores in about 20 years.. Lol..

Doc,
Congrats. When I had a Taildragger, my insurance company required a TW endorsement and 10hrs dual.
I almost bought a PA-12 at the time but instead ended up with a C170. Now I have "progressed up the cessna ladder" to a 175.

12E is in the grind we'll see if it makes coffe before my mech ships out end of month.
My insurance wants tailwheel endorsement plus 10 hours dual in make/model.
Craig, I found out that MT makes an 82.7 inch prop for my IO-360 Continental. That would be a sweet 10K upgrade, ehh?

Eric,
That sounds about the same length as mine. Mine is 210cm.
I think it would be a great Short Take Off mod, but if it keeps your plane on the ground trying to come up with the 10K, dont do it. Get that darn bird in the air, then contemplate the nice to haves.

LOL 76" in the air is much better than 82.7" in the hangar, I agree.
Actually I am not buying anything except essentials right now.
